OH House Fire Claims Family of Four

Jackson Township firefighters said it appeared the victims were trying to get out.

A house fire early Sunday in Jackson Township claimed the lives of a family of four.

The victims were identified as Jeff and Talina Hawk and children Javen and Amelia, according to WKYC.

Jackson Township firefighters responding to a 9-1-1 call about a fully involved house fire.

The offensive operation was thwarted by heavy fire.

"All indications are they (the Hawk family) were trying to exit the dwelling." Chief Tim Berczik told reporters.  "Ninety percent of the dwelling was consumed with fire."

Three pets died in the blaze.
